Margaret Weis

Margaret Weis was born and raised in Independence, Missouri. She attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, graduating in 1970 with a BA in creative writing.

Margaret Weis, has two children, David and Elizabeth Baldwin. Her son is the creator of the Darkheart series, while her daughter is book editor with Wizards of the Coast. Ms Weis lives in a converted barn in the Lake Geneva, Wisconsin area. The household also includes two collie dogs Laddie and Kelly, a black lab/retriever mix, Sasha, and three cats: Nicolai Mouseslayer; Motley Tatters; Shiva, Destroyer of Nations. Weis and husband Don Perrin, with which she co-wrote the Mag Force 7 Series, are co-owners of a game store - the Game Guild.

Published works include the Dragonlance series – co-written with Tracy Hickman, and her own series, a galactic fantasy, Star of the Guardian. Weis is currently the president and owner of Mag Force 7, a company which designs and produces collectible trading card games.
