And some info about the pilot of Joss' NEW project (Firefly) is here MIBII As you've probably seen in the media Will Smith and Tommy Lee are in

The Saturns AI and The Lord of the Rings cleaned up at the recent Saturn Awards. Also honoured were Buffy the Vampire Slayer (in TV) and The Others for horror. Full winners (and some editorial) over at the Cinescape website. Peter McNamara Award Congratulations to HarperCollins' Stephanie Smith who was nominated for this year's Peter McNamara Award (presented last weekend at ConVergance). Well done! The purpose of the McNamara Achievement Award is to firstly recognise the outstanding achievement of its namesake, Peter McNamara - a writer, editor and publisher of fine Science Fiction and Fantasy. For more info on the award check out the the Altair Australia website. Sir Julius Vogel - Congratulations Dale Elvy! This just in from author Dale Elvy (currently doing some publicity in New Zealand): Just dropping you a line from NZ to let you know... (Drum Roll) First Hunter won the Sir Julius Vogel award for Best New Novel and I was lucky enough to win the award for Best New Talent. The awards are decided by a three day vote by all members of the New
Zealand Science Fiction association, so I condsider it a real honour as
it is a fan's choice award. WELL DONE, DALE! The sequel to First Hunter is called Spirit Shinto and will be released in Australia in August. |
