MAP OF THE CHAKRA SYSTEM

ROOT

Located: at the base of the spine.
Superimposing: the prostrate area in the male, uterus in the female.
Perceived clairvoyantly: appears like the sign of the cross.
Colour: brown to red.
Active when: mind is focused on materialistic matters and body sensualities.
Represents: the lowest part of human consciousness - the seat of fear and grounding; Will power and action.
Syn: MULDHARA, KANDA

SPLEEN

Located: navel.
Superimposing: the navel and extends to the spleen.
Perceived clairvoyantly: shaped like a wheel with six spokes.
Colour: Red - Orange.
Active function: absorbs the vitality from the sun dispersing it throughout the body; it draws in the spirit from the air to disperse it to the etheric double and the physical nervous system.
Represents: the seat of sexuality, creativity & passion.

SOLAR PLEXUS

Located: Behind Stomach
Superimposing: Stomach and the liver.
Perceived clairvoyantly: looks like a whirling flower with ten petals.
Colour: Orange to Yellow - depending on one's emotional state.
Active function: the psychic organ for diffusing the sense of feeling and touch. The seat of the soul in the body, where one feels the emotions of the universe.
Represents: Gut feeling - as it is the perception area for both positive and negative energies.
Syn: MANIPUR, SVADHISTHANA

HEART

Located: Heart
Superimposing: the thymus gland between the shoulder blades and the pulse point of the heart.
Perceived clairvoyantly: appears alike a flower with twelve petals.
Colour: Pink - Gold as one progresses
Active function: it separates high and lower states of consciousness. It is a storage place for the temporary Akashic Records to distribute the Karma throughout the blood stream as it beams ripe, forming one's body and lifestyle.
Represents: the seat of compassion, intelligence love and hate
Syn: ANAHAT or ANAHATA

THROAT

Located: larynx area.
Superimposing: the thyroid gland.
Perceived clairvoyantly: has sixteen petals
Colour: Blue to silver ripples
Active function: mediates vocal expression
Represents: the seat of communication

BROW

Located: Forehead
Superimposing: the third eye area
Perceived clairvoyantly: 96 streams of radiation
Colour Left side (feminine) violet colour.
Right side (masculine) golden hue.
Active functions: left - pituitary gland (negative).
right - pineal gland (positive)
Represents: the seat of silver cord. Third eye.
Syn: AJNA or AGYAN.

CROWN

Located: Top of the Head
Superimposing: around the head.
Perceived clairvoyantly: 960 petals on the outside of a circular
round shape, with a subsidiary central whirlpool of twelve gleaming white petals, fused with gold at its heart.
Colour: White and gold. When fully developed it radiates a most splendid chromatic effect, forming what is called the Lotus flower.
Active when: the soul-mind gradually becomes purified making ready to become glorified to the higher realms. Each of the lower chakras unfolds energy into this chakra, giving it its brilliance, the power and intelligence it needs for mans ascension.
Represents: the seat of Divine Force.
Syn: SAHASRARA
